A Tasty Pie of Quick and Inexpensive Preparation. Recipe

When Sophiya had arrived in our family, I started drinking baked milk litre after litre – it was said to improve lactation. Because of that or, may be, because of some other reason, when our daughter turned 3 months old, she became allergic to the milk protein. Then I had not understood yet what caused the allergy. Thus, I took away everything from my menu except for boiled buckwheat, bread, white sea fish and green apples.

Any nursing mother would agree that it is very difficult to be strong and cheerful living on such food when you have a babe in arms. I longed for something tasty!

A pie of quick preparation

And at that point I remembered the recipe of my brand-name pie. Brand-name as it was the first dish I learnt to cook at the same time upgrading some other recipe. It is a pie which can be made quickly. A pie which does not need a large variety of ingredients. And, finally, it is a pie which suits any situation and any holiday (Women’s Day, Christmas, a friends’ meeting, etc.).

The recipe of the pie with apples, dried apricots and nuts

Ingredients:

1 egg

purified vegetable oil1 – 1 spoonful

sugar – 2/3 glass (who likes really sweet things can take a full glass)

flour – 1,5 glass

salt – 1/2 teaspoon

water/milk – 1/2 glass

3-4 apples

dried apricots (as much as you want)

walnuts

Preparation:

Put sugar into the bowl and beat eggs, oil and salt in. Add flour and water/milk. Cut (slice or dice) dried apricots, apples and mix them with the pastry. Add walnuts (I divide each half of the walnut into app. 4 parts).

All this can be made very quickly. That is why I made this pie quite often when our 3-7 months old daughter was at the kitchen with me – she was very interested in the process!

Comments from guests: «A top-class pie. It is both light (the pastry is almost imperceptible as if you are eating only fruits) and nourishing (due to the abundance of dried apricots). One may eat it instead of biscuits with tea. It’s a pity, it finishes soon».

Bon appetit!
